Franklin Edgar Beckham was born 18 Apr 1893 in Sebree, Kentucky to William M and Ella G Beckham. He had two brothers, James A Beckham and David A Beckham.

Franklin Beckham enlisted on 11 May 1918 in Evansville, Indiana and was assigned to Headquarters Company, Thirty-Fourth Infantry. Franklin was discharged 28 Jun 1919. Records indicate he had psychosis.

Franklin Beckham died 5 Nov 1933 (aged 40) in Marion, Grant County, Indiana at the Marion National Sanitarium. Since 1921, Marion National Sanitarium was a facility dedicated to the treatment World War I neuropsychiatric cases, including what was then called shell shock and other mental disorders.

Funeral for Franklin E. Beekham, 40, World War veteran, brother of A. J. Beckham, Evans-ville, was held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Klee-Morton-Tapp Funeral Chapel, Henderson, Ky., where he lived. Burial was in Fernwood Cemetery. Mr. Beckham died Saturday in the Marine Hospital at Marion, Ind. Other survivors are: the father, William M. Henderson, and brother, Aldridge, Detroit, Mich.
