Robert Edgar Cook was born 29 Dec 1851 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, to Dr John B Cook (Unknown – 1887) and Elizabeth J McReynolds (Unknown – 1883).

Robert Cook married Laura Brown (1869 – 1933) in 1895.

Various jobs including post master, opera house manager, salesman for B. Lieber, manager of the oflice affars with J. L. Nicholson & Company, custodian of the Elks Home, insurance agent, and a dairy farmer.

Robert Cook was secretary for the Odd Fellows organization for 25 years.

Robert Edgar Cook died 25 Oct 1933 (aged 81) and was buried in Fernwood Cemetery.


Obituary: Henderson Morning Gleaner • Thu, Oct 26, 1933:
R. E. Cook, 81, native of Tuscumbia, Ala., but a resident of Henderson 76 years, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:40 at his home in Weaverton, after a long illness. A charter member of the Henderson lodge of Elks and a past exalted ruler, he was also prominently identified with the local Odd Fellows lodge.
Mr. Cook was postmaster of Henderson during the first Cleveland administration, from 1885 to 1889 and for a number of years connected with the Southland Coal company here.
Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Cook Crawley, and a son, Robert Cook, of Henderson; two daughters, Mrs. David Buckley and Miss Lucy Cook, in New York City, and a son, Edgar Cook, in Princeton. Ky,
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home by the Rev. William Banks, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal church and burial will be in Fernwood. The pallbearers will be: Honorary – E, L. Starling, C. T. Blackwell, J. H. Lyne, W. H, Soaper. John C. Worsham, George Waltz, L., W. Rogers, W. P. Kellen,
