206 South Ingram Street is a two-story brick residence dating to about 1875, reflecting the sturdy domestic architecture of post-Civil War Henderson. Early newspaper notices show the home was large enough to be rented or divided, with ads in 1905 offering the lower portion for rent and a 1920 listing describing it as a six-room house with bath on a sizable lot.

The house entered the news again on January 31, 1950, when a small fire caused by a gas vent resulted in only slight damage, according to the Henderson Morning Gleaner. More than a century after it was built, 206 South Ingram remains a quiet survivor of Henderson’s 19th-century residential landscape.
