The Trible Co.

The Trible Co. was a Henderson furniture repair and carpet-cleaning business operating during the early 1920s.

An advertisement in the September 9, 1922, Henderson Morning Gleaner placed the company at 121 Green Street. It offered furniture repairing and upholstering, along with carpet and rug cleaning under the Hamilton-Beach Cleaning Co. name. The advertisement listed New Phone 474-B and Old Phone 565.

By February 10, 1924, The Trible Co. had moved to 13 S. Main Street, next to Klee-Morton Co. Advertising described the business as “Furniture Fixers” and stated that carpets and rugs were cleaned. The company used Home Phone 94 and offered pickup and delivery.

A surviving metal advertising match holder repeats the 13 S. Main Street address, Home Phone 94, and the phrases “Furniture Fixers” and “Carpets Washed.” Because that information matches the 1924 advertisement, the match holder likely dates from 1924 or later.

The company’s proprietor and its opening and closing dates have not yet been identified.
