Adolph Fred Schertz Was born 22 Nov 1879 in Indiana to Conrad Schertz and Caroline Kist.

Adolf Shertz married Nellie Epley (1882 – 1932), daughter of Jack Epley and Sally Foramer, on 31 Dec 1902. They lived in Henderson for several years where Adolf worked as a tailor.

Schertz whose establishment is on the second floor of Odd Fellows building, Second street where he conduets a tailoring business of the first-class. He can furnish you suitings in importedor domestic goods, trousers, vests and etc. of newest patterns and most stylish cut. In fit, workmanship and durability of material satisfaction is guaranteed in every instance. He gives special attention to cleaning, repairing, and pressing clothes, calls for them and delivers to any part of the city. He employs none but skilled workman and while he has been in business for self but six years he has spent the better part of his life in the tailoring trade. Mr. Schertz is a wideawake young business man of unquestioned ability and numbers among his friends and patrons the best class of people in the city, and is especially noted among them for the promptness in which he executes the work entrusted to his care.

In 1909, A. F. Schertz has sold his tailoring establishment and good will to E. C. Denton, before moving to St Paul, Minnesota.

Adolf Schertz died 1 Aug 1937 (aged 56) and was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Saint Paul, Minnesota, plot L2 Lot 41.
