Andrew Jackson Richmond was born 9 Dec 1851 to Andrew Jackson Richmond (1816 – 1898) and Nancy Griffin Key (1820 – 1910).

Andrew Richmond married Susan T. Ring (1853 – 1913) in 1873.

Richmond served on the Henderson Police Department for several years. He also worked as keeper of Atkinson Park and a guard at the Henderson Cotton Mill.

Andrew and Susan Richmond lived at 1403 Cumnock Street in the East End.

Andrew died 13 Mar 1924 (aged 72) and was buried in Fernwood Cemetery / Section 25 / Lot 1141N / Grave 4.

Obituary, Henderson Morning Gleaner Mar 14, 1924:

A. J. Richmond, age 72, passed away at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon at his home, 1403 Cumnock street, after an iliness of five weeks of complication of diseases. Mr. Richmond had been a resident of Henderson for about thirty years, coming here from Todd county, Ky. He served on the police force for four years and was keeper at Atkinson Park for four years and later was watchman at the Henderson Cotton Mill.
He is survived by ten children, six daughters and four sons, namely Miss Nancy Richmond, city: Mis Ida Smith, Delaware, Ky.; Mrs Susie Goodrum, Evansville, Ind.; Mrs. Mollie Herzog, Mrs. Mattie Wright, city, and Mrs. Gertie Brooks, Anthoston, and Charles Richmond of Evansville; Hesea Jack and William Richmond, city.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon from the Clay Street Methodist church, with interment in Fernwood cemetery.
