Aubrey Robbards Pruitt was born 1 March 1897 to David Kitchell Pruitt (1872-1953) and Martha Edwards Newman Pruitt (1869-1963) in Hebbardsville, KY.
Aubrey served in the US military from 14 Aug 1918 to 8 Feb 1919, during WW1.


Aurbrey Robbards Pruitt married Mayme Elizabeth Paff (1900 – 2 Jul 1990) on 2 Sept 1925 at Zion Evangelical Church with Rev. Neis officiating. The only attendants were Miss Louise Paff and John C. Paff, sister and brother of the bride.
Mayme was a daughter of Peter Paff Sr (1858-1916) and Louisa Bohl Paff (1870-1908), and Peter Paff Sr was a brother of Frederick C. “Fred” Paff (1862-1927).

Aubrey worked for Standard Oil and operated several different filling stations, including one at the corner Second and Water streets in 1926.

In September 1945, J. C. Ligon deeded Aubrey Pruitt and a tract of land then in the county on Highway 41 opposite Audubon Park. This became the location of Park Gables, a tavern owned by Pruitt and William Thomas Slaton.


Aubrey died 15 Nov 1963 (aged 66) and was buried in Fernwood Cemetery Lot 1124, 8.
