Edward William Klutey was born 19 Jul 1889, along with his twin brother Walter Fred Klutey, to Frederick Klutey (1842 – 1922) and Caroline Bruning Klutey (1852 – 1918).

His father, Frederick Klutey was born in Minon, Prussia, and came to America when he was thirteen years old and came to Henderson in 1863. In 1865, Frederick and Mr. Kleymeyer, organized the Kleymeyer and Klutey Brick Company.

Edward married Bernice King Klutey (1893 – 1980) in 1911. They had 3 children:
Carl Edward Klutey (1916 – 1976)
Delmar King Klutey (1920 – 1986)
Curtis Bradley Klutey (1924 – 1926)

In 1912, Edward and Bernice built their house at 1121 Washington Street, at the corner of Washington and Klutey Streets.

Edward was general repairman and a cabinet maker, employed by the Marstall Furniture Company and Delker Brothers.

Edward Klutey died 19 Jan 1969 (aged 79) and was buried in Fernwood Cemetery, Fernwood Cemetery / Section 23 / Lot 1451 / Grave 9.
