Frank “Hazel” Hayes was born 29 Aug 1922 to Curtis Hayes (1903 – 1947) and Della A. “Dellie” Ranes Hayes (1897 – 1956).
Frank Hayes was living with Peter F and Mary Rose Cohen and their daughter Rose Mary Cohen by 1940. His parents were living in Indianapolis.
Frank enlisted in the army on 1 Mar 1941 and was in Headquarters Company 7th Infantry Division. He saw service in North Africa, Sicily, Anzio Beachhead and France.
Private First Class Frank Hayes died in service on 9 Sep 1944 (aged 22) in France. He has a memorial marker in Fernwood Cemetery.
