The Henderson Roller Mills was the oldest mill in Henderson county, built in 1871. The first owners were H. H. and H. R. Katterjohn. In 1886, W. A. Drake, T. A. Sandefur and Mr. Watson purchased an interest in the business, and a little later the firm became Drake, Watson & Co. H. H. Katterjohn’s interest was purchased, and upon the death of Mr. Watson the firm name was changed to Drake & Sandefur, and so continued until about 1899, at which time Mr. Sandefur bought out the Drake interest and has since continued the business alone.

“White Swan” and “Pearl” brands of flour were manufactured, “White Swan” being the leader.

The office and mill was located near the corner of Third and Alvasia streets.
