Henry Fitzhugh Dade, son of Albert Gallatin Dade (18151890) and Anne Wray (Fitzhugh) Dade (1816-1839), was born on 11 February 1836 in Virginia.
Henry Fitzhugh Dade married Mary Carol “Mollie” Holliday Dade (1842 – 1925) on 31 July 1862 in Louisa Co., VA.
Henry Fitzhugh Dade entered the Confederate army at the beginning of the Civil war and was captain of the Monticello Guards from Charlottesville, and was with General Lee throughout the war and at the final surrender at Appomattox.
Henry Fitzhugh Dade died 22 October 1907 and was buried in Fernwood Cemetery / Section 25 / Lot 1117 / Grave 12.

H. F. DADE PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY
Henry Fitz Hugh Dade, one of the most highly respected citizens of Henderson and one of the Civil War veterans who fought with the Ariny of Northern Virginia during the four years of fierce fighting along
the banks of the Potomac, died at his home, on North Main street, yesterday afternoon at 4:15 o’clock after an iness of three months.
About three months ago Mr. Dade was stricken with paralyeis. He par tally recovered from the first attack, but the second stroke came ten days ago to which he succumbed.
Mr. Dade was born in Westmoreland county, Virginia, February 11, 1836. He was married to Mollie H.
Halladay on the eleventh day of July, 1862.
His first service in the Confederate army was as a first lieutenant in the Nineteenth Infantry, where he remained until 1863 under Captain W. B. Mallory, of Memphis. At the conclusion of his service under Captain Mallory Mr. Dade was assigned to the staff of General W. H. F. Lee, of the Army of Northern Virginia. He came to Henderson in 1873.
For several years the late Mr. Dade was in charge of the business affairs of Mrs. T. K. Gibbs, and during the later years of his life be was engaged in the stove business on Main street. About two years age he re tired from business and sold his stock of merchandise to Mallory Brothers.

The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Mollie H. Dade, the widow, H. F. and A. B. Dade, of this city;
Dr. Waller H. Dade of Ft. Russell, Wyoming, and A. L. Dade, of Myton, Utah, sons: and Mrs. G. M. Alves.
The funeral services will be held at the family residence this afternoon and the interment will be private. The active pall bearers will be O. W. Rash. Ulise Pargny, Henry C. Dixon. W. W. Williams, Robert Mallory and H. B. McClellan.
The Confederate Veterans of this city will act in the capacity of honorary pall bearers.
