John Hevern Johnston was born 3 Sep 1903 to James Reuben Johnston (1883-1957) and Elsie Mae Myers Johnston (1886-1956).

John H. Johnston, lost his life by drowning in the Potomac river during a storm Sunday, 8 June 1924.

The body was taken to the morgue of the KleeMorton company and then taken to the residence, 801 Madison street, where the funeral was conducted at 10:30 o’clock the next morning by Rev. E. J. Willis of the Christian church. The pall bearers were members of Worsham Post, American Legion. The burial was in Fernwood cemetery, Lot 1380, 6, where the legion will have charge of the services which will be said by Rev. Logan English, chaplain of Worsham post.
