Moose Lodge at Second and Green was built in 1950.

Construction work on the new Moose Temple in Henderson, to cost $101,000, was started during the past week under the supervision of Al Thorpe of Evansville. Charles Yates, secretary of the lodge, said the contract for the new home was awarded to the Thorpe Construction Company of Evansville.
It is the first home construction for the local Moose lodge. The old home, torn down to make way for the new building, was purchased in 1916 from Gus Starr. Prior to that lodge headquarters were in the Grasty Building on Elm Street. Virgil Miller of Evansville was architect for the new construction. Yates said about six months will be required to build the new home.
The new building is on a lot 68×109 feet and yill be of steel framework with Bedford stone and brick finish. Glass bricks will add a beautiful touch to the front and side of the building. The new home is expected to be ready for the state convention of Moose in Henderson on Oct. 19-20-21, Yates said. More than 3,800 persons will attend the conven-tion. Moose from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Tennessee will be here.
