The house at 513 N Main was built between 1897 and 1900* for Sherley Clore (1871-1953), whose grandfather was Joseph Clore who owned a saw and planning mill at 6th and water streets and lumber yards that reached to 6th and Main. The house was occupied by Joe Sweeten by 1909 who traded it to W. J. Marshall. Dr. J. Cabell Moseley purchased the house shortly after in 1909. The house caught fire on 16 February 1910. Luckily Dr. Moseley, his wife and baby were able to get out safely. Nick K Toy, then local superintendent of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and president of the Henderson Commercial Club, purchased the home in June 1910 and repaired the fire damage before moving in.

*The house is not shown in the 1897 Sanborn Map, but is in the 1901 Sanborn Maps. Sherely Clore is listed at a residence on N Main between 509 and 521 in the 1900 US Census. This only leaves 513 N Main as the residence because 517 was not built until 1901.
